&tradition Blown Pendant

Description

Designed by Samuel Wilkinson, the Blown Pendent light is the very first product he crafted for &tradition. Therefore, it features an especially distinct aura that sets this piece apart from many others in the collection.

The Blown Pendent light is made of literal mouth-blown glass and a powder coated metal suspension weaving around a 4 meter fabric cord. Part of this light has been rendered to foresee the augmented reality of how each inflation would look as a complete product. This computer aid helped to craft a beautifully symmetrical cluster of Blown Pendent lights that feature a beautiful aesthetic and an attractive appeal.
Wilkinson was inspired by the complexity of reflection. He envisioned his design by draing inspiration from actual antique ceramic pieces, old lamps, lighthouses and even mirrored bottles and articulated that classical vintage aura into the design of the Blown Pendent light. Wilkinson actually experimented with the refraction and reflection of light through all of these light fixtures to figure out how he would mimic their intricacy in the actual design.
